Traders wanted for the Market Square’s first Easter Fair

Northampton Market is calling for traders to take part in its first Easter Fair, which is planned for Sunday 9 April.

The Easter themed market will open between 11am and 4pm and aims to treat shoppers to a showcase of local produce, unique Easter gifts and cards, as well as arts and crafts. A number of food and drink stalls will also be present to help keep visitors well fuelled during the day.

Running alongside the Easter Fair on 9 April, will be the first of two children’s Easter Egg Hunts. The Egg Hunts will see families exploring the Market Square and stalls to seek out Easter related clues in return for a small prize. A second Easter Egg Hunt will follow a week later on Saturday 15 April. Both will be free to take part in.

Deputy Leader of the Borough Council, Cllr Phil Larratt, said: “The historic feel and central location of Northampton Market Square makes it the perfect place for celebrating Easter with local families and visitors from across the county and beyond.

“We hope that the Easter Fair will provide visitors with an attractive retail offer, especially of local products, and that it will be as successful as other seasonal fairs, which have attracted over 70 stalls to the Market Square.  We look forward to welcoming more traders this Easter.”

Local traders who would like to have a stall at the Easter Fair can book a stall with the Market Manager, Charlie Childs, at cchilds@northampton.gov.uk or 07771 930475.
