Brixton Village and Market Row has been nominated for the prestigious Time Out Love London awards, following an intense four-week nomination stage.

The awards are designed to help Londoners showcase the best bits of their area and last year saw 250,000 people vote, showing passion for their postcodes.

Businesses were given the opportunity to submit an entry to be in with a chance of making the shortlist. If successful, award winners are in for a fantastic prize – a week’s worth of coverage in some of London’s busiest tube stations, making the team at Brixton Village and Market Row delighted to have made it down to the final few.

Award categories range from bars and pubs to shops and restaurants, with Brixton Village and Market Row going head to head in the shops category with Morleys four-floor fashion and homeware department store and A&C Co Continental Grocers- which sells a range of fresh foreign foods.

BV Second Av 2Rachid Ghailane, market operations manager at Brixton Village and Market Row partnership said:
“We are two amazing unique markets at the heart of Brixton that reflect the spirit and vibes of the area.”

“Bursting with independent traders who provide the most wonderful mix and atmosphere, everyone is welcome to join us for food or shopping at many boutiques and homeware shops.”

Open every day from 8am, Brixton Market offers a huge selection of stalls with exclusive local products ranging from fashion to musical treats. In the evenings (apart from Mondays) the food and restaurants are bustling until 11.30pm.

Known for putting the community and local people at the heart of what they do since their beginnings in the 1930s, the market has always offered opportunities for start-up businesses along with job prospects.

A one-stop shop for culture, food and entertainment, Brixton Village and Market Row is hoping to gain support from local business lovers and community customers. With voting closing on the 31st October, they are encouraging fans to submit their entry here: http://goo.gl/Eow9aO
