Over 60 Market Traders have signed up for Buxton Markets, which re-launches on Saturday 30th April in the Market Place in Buxton.

Since the formation of Buxton Markets Community Interest Company, there has been a real buzz about the Market coming back to Town.

The response to a renewed Market has been fantastic, traditional bright stripy awnings and a great selection of the freshest meats, fish, vegetables, bread and cakes along with unbelievable prices on designer clothing, scarves, jewellery and household goods. Also ‘The BodyShop at Home’ will be back in town, which is great news for lovers of this ethically and environmentally friendly cosmetics company.

To relaunch the Market in style, the Lord Mayor will cut the ribbon at 1.30pm on Saturday the 30th and announce the one lucky customer who will win £100 of goods, including a generous donation of £50 worth of meat.

So it is well worth coming along to pick up your free ticket!

“We can’t wait to bring our butchery skills to the new market. We currently work from 19 market sites, and I think that Buxton will prove to be one of our most profitable locations as there are a good number of local residents along with a massive amount of visitors to the area. Customers can expect to bag a real bargain from us and we look forward to meeting them.”

Lindsay Fieldhouse, Buxton Markets Manager, says
“There has been such a positive response from Traders and locals; everyone I speak to reminisces about when the Market was thriving and covered both sides of the street. I’m thoroughly looking forward to seeing that again.”
“The Market will be open every Tuesday and Saturday from the 26th of  April from 9am to 4pm on the Market Place of the highest Market Town in England, Buxton!”
