Following on from Cannock Chase Council awarding the contract to operate Cannock Friday Street Market to E G Skett & Co. in November 2015, a super relaunch is planned on Friday 27th May.
The market will see a facelift of attractively dressed stalls and units. It will be a day of celebration including street jugglers, fire eating and live music throughout the day. The Council’s Chairman will also be presenting an award to “trader of the year” chosen by the traders themselves.
Since November the market has gone from strength to strength, attracting new trades and guest food producers offering an array of delights.

An excellent relationship has also been formed with the Indoor Market who are working alongside Sketts so both markets work in unison.

To add to the party atmosphere, Sketts are participating in the high profile, Love Your Local Market 2016 campaign led by the National Association of British Market Authorities, with full support from the wider markets industry and Government. They will be joining over 1200 markets across the country by taking part in the Love Your Local Market Campaign and are offering free pitches in order to attract new market traders.
Started in 2012 amidst fears around the sustainability of our nation’s high streets, Love Your Local Market participants have staged over 4,000 events and this year Sketts shall be taking part for their 4th year of Love Your Local Market and Cannock’s Street Markets first year participating in this fantastic campaign.
