Tuesday 10 May sees the second annual ‘Green Fingers’ market joining the Vintage and Craft Bazaar in Market Square, with a variety of gardening products on offer for shoppers to browse through.

A number of gardening experts will also be in attendance, sharing helpful tips with market-goers. Amongst them will be North End Nurseries, who’ll deliver a talk on planting at 11am. The Lily Pot from Watermead will demonstrate a range of floral arrangements, and Creative Green from Brill will be bringing along examples of rural craft items.

Joining them at the market will be representatives from North Bucks Bat Group, the RSPB and Berks, Bucks & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT), alongside Lindengate, Aylesbury Gardening Society and the Culinary Herb Company.

From 20 May onwards, every Friday in Aylesbury is set to become a ‘Foodie Friday’, with Market Square playing host to an array of stalls containing mouth-watering edible treats and gourmet delights, supplied by local producers. Choices available will include Greek, Spanish and Italian food.

Various community and youth groups, artists, musicians and other performers will be entertaining shoppers during the course of each market day.

The following month, on Tuesday 14 June, bookworms will be able to enjoy this year’s ‘Book Lovers’ market, where an enticing array of paperbacks, hardbacks, novels and unique items such as bags made out of vintage books will be for sale. Storytelling sessions for young children will be held at 11am and 2pm.

Diana Fawcett, Town Centre Manager, said:
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring such a wide range of specialist markets to Aylesbury over the summer. The town centre already has a superb selection of cafés, shops and services, and with these exciting new events we’re sure that there will be something in our historic market town to appeal to everyone.”
