Whether you’re a chef looking for the best in fresh produce, a busy worker that’s looking for inspiration for dinner or a visitor to town just wanting to browse something different. Newcastle Farmers Market ticks all the boxes!

Entering its fourteenth year, the market is situated on Grainger St and is certified by the governing body FARMA (National Farming and Retail Market Association). Meaning traders must follow stringent guidelines ensuring everything displayed is produced, grown or made locally.

Up to 24 stalls grown with fresh, homegrown, local produce, fruit, vegetables and meats sitting alongside delicious jams fudges and cakes not forgetting the local microbreweries in a mouthwatering assault on the senses.

Traders are all eager to discuss their produce and will even help with recipes and ideas to ensure you get the best from the best!

As well as the traditional baked pies, cakes and biscuits, you will also find country classics like wild rabbit, squirrel and steak. If pies aren’t your thing just buy the fresh meat. Purchase specialist dietary cakes such as gluten free coffee cake; you can then wash it all down with locally brewed Ale.

For those with a sweet tooth of a different nature, there are fudges, jams, curds and marmalades all made from recipes handed down the generations.

Mostly the products sold at the Farmers’ Market are grown, produced or made within 50 miles of the City Centre which means you get your food directly from the people who made it.  After you’ve finished your retail therapy you can even relax in a hot bath with locally made luxurious organic soaps, creams and other bath products!

What a great feeling to know that you have supported the local British farming/producing community as well as your local market? Come and Enjoy!
