The incredibly successful Farmers Market held in Harborne on the second Saturday of every month will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on April 9.

Recognised as one of the most genuine farmers markets in the UK with more than 25 traders, all from within 50 miles, the market held on Harborne’s High Street has been running successfully for the past decade.

To mark the 10th anniversary on Saturday, April 9, there will be a party flavour to the market, with steel pan sounds from Jamma, balloons and even a birthday cake.

skettspancakeThe cake will be cut at midday and following the cake cutting the first lucky 100 people to join Sketts Quality Events at the market can collect a party bag filled with local produce goodies.

The market runs from 9am until 2pm and will include cupcakes, cheeses, wine, vegetables, pancakes and a pig roast.

The market was established by Sketts Quality Events in 2006 and is now a firm fixture in Harborne calendar.

Sketts Harborne Market Manager Russell Dean said:Harborne is a genuine farmers market, each month offering local, high quality produce, and we want to make sure the 10th anniversary celebrations don’t pass by unrecognised.

The market has gone from strength to strength, not least because of our strong links and close working with the Harborne Retailers Management Company.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our farmers markets, working with farmers and local authorities to ensure Britain’s farmers markets remain authentic and true to their original ethos.

We know that farmers have risen to the consumer challenge, and offer expert knowledge of British produce, how it is grown and even how it is best cooked.

We work to make sure that all our farmers offer a friendly service and care deeply about the quality, freshness, animal welfare and local community.
