Gourmet sausages, locally brewed beers, ciders and wines, and chic upcycled furniture are just a few of the products that will be available to buy at a new monthly local producers’ market set to launch at Northampton Market on Saturday 30 July.

The market, which will be in addition to the existing market, will run from 9am to 5pm and take place on the last Saturday of every month.

Local businesses taking part in the first local producers’ market include:

All Fixed Up
A Taste of the Shires Hampers
Browns Gourmet Sausages
Creative Fudge
Donnalulu Cooks
Fleur Fields
Honey & Juice
Phipps Brewery
Saxby’s Cider
The Good Loaf

Many more local companies have already signed up to take part in future markets in August and September.

Amanda Saxby, director of Saxby’s Cider who will be at the market, said:
“It’s great to see a new local producers’ market in the town. Hopefully this will grow as more people in the town come and see all the fantastic diverse food, drink and more that is made locally. I think some customers will be surprised by what is available on their doorstep!”

Councillor Jonathan Nunn, deputy leader of Northampton Borough Council, said:
“We have listened to local businesses and members of the public who told us they would like to see more local products at the market. We have many local food and drink producers attending the first market and it will be a great way for shoppers to try some of the excellent produce made on our doorstep. Local producers of all kinds – from food and drink to arts and crafts – are encouraged to take part and we are looking forward to see the producers’ market grow over the coming months.”
