The London Produce Show & Conference 2016 offers independent grocery retailers the opportunity to learn more about the industry around them and sharpen up their fresh produce and flower supply chain.
Entrance is free to the main show day, on June 9th at the Grosvenor House on Park Lane, Mayfair, where retail attendees will have access to a trade exhibition featuring suppliers from more than 40 countries, as well as an educational seminar programme, a chef demonstration kitchen and free five-star food and drink throughout the day.

On June 10th, the event ends with a series of tours – one of which takes in New Spitalfields Wholesale Market in Leyton, one of the country’s leading fresh produce and flower locations.

Wholesale market tour participants will witness first-hand the working environment at New Spitalfields, a purpose built facility that opened in 1991. Home to well over 100 businesses, the market is the largest revenue earning fresh produce and flower market in the UK. The market has a broad base of market tenants and has recently extended its exotic fruits and vegetable offering.

The agenda includes a tour of the market pavilion, CSB area and meetings with leading wholesalers, a buffet breakfast for all participants, and an overview of the running and management of the site by the team leaders, Jan and Chris Hutchinson as well as Ben Milligan.

Participants in this tour will also be treated to an exclusive tour of London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Two Blue Badge tour guides will take participants on a coach tour of the iconic sports venues used at the London 2012 Olympic Games, housing projects, landscape and garden, the recreation areas and the on-going legacy works for the residents of East London today. A walking tour will start from the Velopark, the scene of Sir Chris Hoy’s epic gold medal win in 2012, making its way to the iconic ArcelorMittal Orbit and a spot of lunch.

A maximum of 45 spaces are available tickets will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. The official itinerary will be posted online shortly. A trip up the ArcelorMittal Orbit is an optional extra and is payable by the participant on the day.
