An interesting issue has been raised by one of our members relating to the position of markets held under Charter.
The member was of a view that such markets were exempt for VAT purposes. Unfortunately, this is not the case so if any other members were of the view that their charter powers protected them from VAT liability, then I am afraid they are wrong.
