Havering’s entrepreneurs can see if the market life is right for them with a free pitch on Romford Market between Wednesday 18 and Saturday 28 May, during a special Love Your Local Market event.
The free stall gives would-be traders the chance to sell their goods on six market days which should give them an idea of how successful they would be as a permanent market trader.
The initiative is part of a national Love Your Local Market campaign to encourage new market traders to traditional markets.
Cabinet Member for the Environment, Councillor Robert Benham, said:
“Romford Market has a good base of successful traders providing a friendly service for shoppers, but we want to see more stalls in our market.
“This is an opportunity for the next generation of market traders to see if this is the life for them by taking a free stall and seeing if their goods sell. We are looking forward to seeing some interesting new stalls in the market during this special event.”
